Our overall aim is simple: to be the answer at the end of the phone that can be relied on for clear, practical and compliant fire safety advice. Our team is small enough to respond quickly and to develop personal relationships, yet large enough to deliver a high quality service in a wide range of situations.

We provide market leading fire risk assessments, fire safety consultancy, fire strategies, fire engineering analysis and fire compartmentation survey services. We work with a wide range of clients, both public and private sector, including healthcare premises, offices, warehouses, educational facilities and retail properties.

We believe that third party accreditation is vital; that’s why our fire risk assessment service is accredited by UKAS and NSI under the BAFE SP:205 life safety fire risk assessment scheme, and has been since 2013. Our consultants hold a range of professional accreditations, including membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) and the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM).

Mortgage Statements - Fire

Consultancy – Mortgage Statements - Fire

Oakleaf fire engineers are able to assist with requests from mortgage lenders and solicitors where during the sale process a written statement to confirm the property meets the requirements of current Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) guidance is requested. The aim of the request from lenders and solicitors is largely to confirm the property meets the requirements outlined by the MHCLG Advice Note 14

Mortgage Statements - Fire

Our fire engineers are members of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) as well as holding Chartered Engineer and Incorporated Engineer status, registered with the Engineering Council. This fulfils the requirement that the statement must be produced by a member of one of the professional bodies listed by MHCLG in information Note 1.

To assist with the production of the statement we would require as much as possible of the following:

  • General building description
  • O&M information relating to any materials on the external fabric / balconies
  • Results of any intrusive or sampling exercises
  • Details on the height and general construction of the property
  • Current FRA

We will also undertake a site visit to satisfy ourselves of the accuracy of the information prior to issuing a statement.
