Stage 1 – Signage Overview Survey

This stage is intended to identify the principle issues that exist on site. It will examine the following aspects to establish where good practice already exists and also where there is need for change.

Stage 2 – The Patient and Visitor Experience Survey

In order to identify the problems and issues (as well as any positives) experienced by patients and visitors attending the hospital we will undertake a survey of a range of individuals over a pre-agreed time period.

This information will then be analysed to identify whether there are common problems being experienced and whether there are specific issues relating to individual areas/locations within the hospital that need to be addressed.

Stage 3 – Mapping Individual Routes Survey

To supplement the patient and visitor experience survey we will conduct a review of each main route through the hospital. This will be to a range of pre-agreed locations. This information is then be analysed to identify whether there are common problems being experienced and whether there are specific issues relating to individual areas/locations within the hospital that need to be addressed.

Stage 4 – Summary of Findings and Recommendations

When all on-site surveys and summaries have been completed Oakleaf will then review the information to identify a range of recommendations for remedial action/improvement that need to be carried out on the site to improve the wayfinding experience.
This will include budget costings for remedial action together with a Priority Code to identify the urgency to which it should be addressed.
Priority 1 = Immediately
Priority 2 = Within the next year
Priority 3 = Within 3 years
Priority 4 = At next routine maintenance cycle
