Our Asset Registers are database driven and are entered in Access in the first instance. We can present the findings in either Excel spreadsheet or Access database that are both fully searchable. Filters can be applied and the data can be updated at any point, this provides an easy way of interrogating the register and updating it into the future as the database is maintained.

A basis Asset Register comprises of…

  • An asset number for each individual piece of plant and equipment.
  • Asset numbers securely being fixed on each piece of equipment to an agreed format.
  • A register of these asset numbers.
  • Recording the manufacturer.
  • Recording the model and any serial numbers.
  • A brief description of condition based on visual inspection.
  • An informed view as to the age of the piece of plant or equipment.
  • An informed view as to life expectancy of the piece of plant or equipment.
  • Statutory testing requirement and period.
  • Risk assessment based prioritisation of repairs, refurbishment or replacement.
  • Proposals for preventative maintenance over a 5 year period.
  • Budget for those maintenance proposals.
  • All of the above to be provided in an easy to use schedule.
  • Schematic drawings to be produced to include plant/item references.

Asset numbers typically comprise sequential bar codes on imprintable polyester (or other to be agreed). The bar codes enable each item to be interrogated in the future using a bar code reader linked to the database. Each item can be tracked and a record made of maintenance cycles etc.

The final information is presented in 2 elements, the core data is provided in either the spread sheet or database format and will include the details listed in the primary outputs list. A master list is also provided in a protected spread sheet that is maintained as a base line survey.

Copies of this information will be returned to the client in hard copy format also, if required.

CAD Annotation

We can either provide the register referenced on a Schematic layout or can annotate on your own CAD plans if they are available.
