The External Wall Fire Review Process
The new External Wall Fire Review process requires a fire safety assessment to be conducted by a suitably qualified and competent professional . Oakleaf are now providing the EWS1 form process from the RICS.
Only one assessment will be needed for each building and this will be valid for five years
The EWS 1 form has been developed by a cross-industry group in conjunction with MHCLG (the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government
The form is key to a new industry-wide valuation process to be used by valuers, lenders, building owners and fire safety experts, which will help people buy and sell homes and re-mortgage in buildings above 18 metres (six storeys).
The move is also a means of urging the proprietors of these buildings to go for independent testing of external wall materials to speed up the process for buyers and sellers, and ensure a greater level of safety
